What is MFA and how does it work?

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your TerraKode account by requiring something you know (your password) and something you have (a code from an authenticator app or email).

Why MFA matters

Even if someone gets your password, they cannot sign in without the second factor. This protects your subscriptions, invoices, support tickets, and product data.

Methods TerraKode supports

  • Authenticator app — Generate time-based codes with apps like Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password.
  • Email code — Receive a one-time code at your registered email address.

Setting up MFA

  1. Sign in and go to the MFA setup page.
  2. Choose authenticator app or email code.
  3. Follow the prompts to verify the code.
  4. Save your backup codes somewhere safe.

Backup codes

Backup codes let you sign in once each if you lose access to your MFA method. Store them in a password manager or another secure location.
